Saja Raoof | Principal

I'm the proud daughter of an “alien of extraordinary ability,” an immigrant visa classification which recognized my dad Dr. Ameed Raoof’s distinguished career in Medical Education. My family is from Iraq, where the first laws were coded.

As a Business Immigration Attorney, I make the U.S. home for highly skilled foreign-born individuals.

My clients are companies and individuals in engineering, architecture, healthcare, tech, and nonprofits.

My immigration career started with my internship at the National Immigration Project in Boston during my first year of law school. I also focused on immigrants’ civil rights during my internship at the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan.

I’ve been practicing Business Immigration since 2006. As a member of the State Bar of Michigan, I am authorized by US Citizenship and Immigration Services to represent companies and individuals nationwide in immigration matters.

Sofia Saucedo Orozco | Legal Assistant

I have over 15 years of experience researching, writing, and proofreading educational, cultural, and sports content. For the past several years, I have focused on immigration law, working as a legal assistant and paralegal and gaining experience with a wide range of immigration matters.

Why Immigration

Immigration cases are about much more than forms and paperwork: they are about people's families, careers, safety, and hopes for the future. I love being able to use my research and writing skills to help make that process a little clearer and less overwhelming for clients.

Something Fun

I’m a lifelong reader and a new mom, so these days my definition of a good night involves getting the baby to sleep and reading a great book. I’m also the person who will happily proofread any text if given the chance.

Ciara Melville | Counsel

I moved to the United States from Australia in 2004 in L2 dependent status, became a lawful permanent resident several years later under the EB1C category, and eventually, in 2015, became a US citizen.

As a Business and Family Immigration Attorney, I make the U.S. home for foreign-born individuals in a variety of different circumstances.

Over my career, my clients have ranged from large multinational corporations, to local businesses, to individuals and families.

My immigration career started with my internship at the Pro Bono Legal Clinic during my last year of law school.

I’ve been practicing Business and Family Immigration since 2022. As a member of the Washington State Bar, I am authorized by US Citizenship and Immigration Services to represent companies and individuals nationwide in immigration matters.
